Backed by 1200 watts of Class D/Class AB (dynamic) power and easy-to-use digital controls, the AIR15 gives you all the power and tools you need for mobile or stationary PA applications. Each type of power amplifier has its advantages and disadvantages. By using different amplifier types for each speaker, AIR15 speakers exploit the respective strengths of Class D and Class AB amplifiers to provide optimum response across the entire frequency range of the speaker. A Class D amplifier delivers 500 watts (continuous) to the 15-inch low-frequency driver, providing clean, efficient power for killer bass when you need it. A Class AB amplifier delivers 200W (continuous) to the 1.35-inch high-frequency driver, giving natural, "free as air" highs. The combination can produce up to 124 dB SPL of smooth, clean sound between 47 Hz and 20 kHz. The AIR15 features an easy-to-use signal processor that makes it easy to customize your speakers at the touch of a button. Presets tailor the AIR15's response for front-of-house use, monitor use, music playback (e.g., for DJs), warmer sound with enhanced bass, or improved speech intelligibility. Controls allow you to increase or decrease the bass and treble by 10 dB to compensate for acoustic anomalies in the room. With placement presets, you can optimize performance for floor, stand, and suspension installations.
