For us, the KH 120 is not just another element in our KH line. It is our first-born, the one that launched our monitor catalog twelve years ago. The response from the press and the trade has been extremely enthusiastic. The KH 120 quickly became the benchmark for high-end proximity monitoring. So what else could we add to a perfect monitor that had been awarded five stars worldwide? Our colleagues in the labs looked back on the last twelve years of R&D progress, smiled, and now present us with the KH 120 II, with dozens of sophisticated improvements. "Never being satisfied with existing developments is part of the Neumann philosophy," said Stephan Mauer, Catalog Manager. "That's why we continue to develop, optimize and perfect even more." One of the major improvements is the DSP-managed electronics, which allow for linear phase crossovers and automatic monitor alignment using Neumann's revolutionary MA 1. All acoustic parameters have also been improved. The new version has even less distortion, deeper bass, higher maximum SPL and even better resolution. The redesigned speaker is now made of MDF, a material that is more durable and even more rigid than the aluminum previously used. The woofer benefits from a completely new design. MMD™ (Mathematically Modeled Dispersion™) waveguide was adopted for the design of the new speaker. And there are dozens of additional improvements, not to mention patent-pending amplifier technology that gives superior audio performance with Class D energy efficiency. The new series also includes AES67 options and is available in charcoal and white. The KH 120 II is an important development for a wide range of applications.
