Measuring 150 mm wide, 215 mm deep and 1 m high, and weighing 15 kg, the ID84 column speaker uses 8 4-inch transducers complemented by an array of dome tweeters mounted on a curved baffle, all housed in a lightweight aluminum case reinforced with a rigid steel bar. The choice of dome tweeters rather than a traditional compression driver results in a particularly low distortion rate, which contributes to a "hi-fi" sound extending the applications of the ID84 far beyond the domains traditionally allocated to columns, from voice reproduction to quality music streaming applications. The ID84 has a bandwidth extending from 90 Hz to 20 kHz, for a peak sound pressure level of 136 dB SPL. The exclusive directivity selector on the rear panel allows the vertical dispersion angle in the treble to be instantly changed, and the cabinets can be joined together to create longer columns. Many rigging options and a full range of accessories make it easy to deploy ID84 tower speakers in many fixed installations and mobile applications. Available in black, white and any custom RAL shade, the Touring version (ID84 T) has a steel grille and speakON type connectors.
